Another illustration of how the war affects crime rates in Ukraine.
Law No. 2505-VIII dated 12.07.2018 added Article 146-1 to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which criminal liability was established for the arrest, detention, kidnapping or deprivation of liberty of a person in any other form, committed by a representative of the state, including foreign, with subsequent refusal to recognize the fact of such arrest, detention, abduction or deprivation of liberty of a person in any other form or concealment of data about the fate of such a person or his whereabouts.
The prerequisites and reasons for adding the specified article to the Criminal Code of Ukraine are clear.
Unfortunately, February 2022 provided grounds for much greater application of this article.
